UnitConverter is a small, completely free utility that I developed in VB.NET in my spare time. As the name suggests, this software is dedicated to converting between different units of measurement, offering a simple and intuitive interface to facilitate conversion operations.
UnitConverter supports conversion between 21 different categories of measurement units. These categories range from the most common, such as mass and speed, to more specialized ones for a chemical engineer, such as specific heat, pressure, and heat transfer coefficient. With this wide range of options, UnitConverter proves to be a versatile tool for both everyday use and more technical and professional applications.
What’s New in Version 1.07
Version 1.07 of UnitConverter introduces significant updates and improvements. Here are the main new features:
- Data storage and acceleration tabs added: Additional conversion possibilities have been added.
- Conversion constants bug fixes: Some minor inaccuracies due to the rounding applied by VB.NET during unit conversions have been corrected. The typical error was very small (less than 10⁻⁷), but the issue has now been resolved.
The program is compiled for 64-bit versions of Windows and requires version 8.0 of the Microsoft .NET libraries. If these libraries are not already present on the PC, the software can automatically download them, ensuring easy installation and configuration. UnitConverter has been tested and proven to work perfectly on the following 64-bit operating systems:

To offer greater flexibility to users, UnitConverter is available in two versions: one with an installer and one portable. The version with an installer is ideal for those who prefer a guided setup integrated into the operating system, while the portable version, provided as a zipped archive, is perfect for those who prefer an application that does not require installation and can be run directly from a USB stick or a folder on the disk.
