At the following link you can download an Excel spreadsheet that allows you to estimate the thermal power dissipated by a storage tank.
To use the program, simply fill in the light-blue fields and click the “Start Calculation” button located in the middle of the sheet. In addition to calculating the dissipated power, the program also performs a calculation of the cooling of the liquid contained in the tank, continuously iterating the calculation procedure over time. The cooling time calculation is approximate and is valid only for liquids.

News: The program has been updated to version 1.02, with a revised formula for calculating roof heat losses and the option to include a roof vent in the calculation. The contribution of the vent does not yet account for losses due to the stack effect, which will be implemented in a future version of the spreadsheet.
